For Blog #5, I decided to use the water bottle video completed in another class. I downloaded four emoji png's that described four of the students in the video. With each student and emoji, I utilized the editing/effect controls in Premiere. With that, I played with tools such as position, scale, and opacity for the emojis. In order to place specific effects on specific frames, I used the razor tool to single out one clip at a time. It made it easier on me to focus on one scene and the effects that I applied to it. I slowed down the scene where she flips the bottle, for dramatic purposes, by clicking "clip" then "speed/duration." From there, I was able to change the speed from 100% to 50% in that one specific scene. I learned that from the "How to create slow motion effects" reading. One scene, where I placed multiple emojis, I had to create a new sequence and place the three different question mark emojis across the blank screen, adjusting the position and scale so they could move throughout. Then, I placed it into the original sequence. I also downloaded sound effects/background music that went with the overall video. I downloaded a drum roll noise for the anticipation of the bottle flip, a snoring sound effect for the student who looked asleep with a sleeping emoji in his frame, and a portion of the song "Celebrate" for when the bottle successfully landed. Overall, this Blog post made me more comfortable with Premiere and all of the effects it offers.
Overall, I think this project was a really great way to bring attention to the fact that not everyone is able to watch or hear videos, TV shows, movies, etc. When producing projects, it is so important to include enough visual and audio details in order to provide for various kinds of people who are watching. Audio Only: With my audio only video, I strived to include as many sound effects as I could. When completing this project, I shut my eyes or avoiding looking at the screen in order to understand what it would be like to be visually impaired. With that, I tried to make my audio as detailed as possible, so that someone who is visually impaired doesn't feel like their missing out on the story. Visual Only: With my visual only, I added various personal photos, clip art photos, and some text. Again, I tried putting myself in a hearing impaired person's shoes and strived to incorporate as much visual detail as I could so that person wouldn't feel like they were mi...
