Swatches of Furniture Task 1: Photo I was in the common room of my residence hall when I started realizing all of the various colors in the furniture. Though there are multiple colors, somehow they all blend together. I decided to photograph a chair alongside a little decorative stand. The black, cream, and dark olive green provided the perfect colors for my swatch assignment. Task 2: InDesign Once I uploaded the image to InDesign, I set my original colors from the photo as new colors on the swatches icon. I found my perfect colors. Using the rectangle tool, I created my boxes for the swatch. I then used the "click and option" tool that we used in class to create the same size rectangles across my swatch. A dark grey, dark olive green, and an off white cream color. I set those as the boxes on my first column on 100% tint. In the next column, I placed the same colors, but at 70% tint. In the last column, I placed the same colors, but at 30%.  Task 3: Nameplates Us...

Still Image Video

youtube link: https://youtu.be/fP0uSZxCAUg My Still Image video project is about about my family's dog, Maui. A golden retriever who we got in the summer of 2017 who completes our family. Step 1: Audio in Adobe Audition. I imported my recording of myself talking about Maui. After trimming down the clip and removing unnecessary parts and pauses, I used the razor tool to separate the audio into two different clips, making it easier to import audio. I downloaded audio from freesound.org and inserted a song for the introduction and conclusion, along with audio clips that went along with the story. Such as, people asking, a car stopping, and dogs barking. I played around a lot with the fade in and fade out tools, so that my audio would sound smoother overall. Besides the razor tools and fade in/out edits, I also lowered the volume of a single audio track because it was too loud over my voice. I exported the audio file as a multitrack in preparation to use it in step 2. Step ...

Blog #3 (GSP)

Since I did yearbook for three years in high school, creating my Photostory draft felt as if I was creating a spread for yearbook. I started in Photoshop and chose two photos where the lighting was off or their were distracting elements in the photo. In the airplane photo, there was originally a Starbucks cup that I edited out by using the stamp tool. For the largest photo of the chair in Slane Student Center, I also edited a few lighting distractions by using the stamp tool and the paint tool. In InDesign, I used the fit content buttons a few times when moving around my photos, for it can be easy to make a mistake with that. I also utilized the proportions InDesign gives when you move things around. It makes your layout more organized and easier to complete. I also played around with the type tool and different fonts that InDesign has to figure out what would look best with my PhotoStory.

youtube link: https://youtu.be/3ueq3_nbKXY My still image video is about one of my residents, Haley Steinhafel, and one of her funniest childhood memories. She talks about how her family traveled to a lake in Wisconsin when she was seven, and why she'll never forget that trip. I edited the audio in Adobe Audition. I didn't have much trouble editing the content. It was fun going online and finding different sound effects and noises to import into my audio clip. I didn't shorten the original audio much because Haley did a great job of retelling the story. I only removed a few silent parts and the very end of the video. I used the razor tool to separate the beginning of the story from the rest, so I could place music. I also played around with the individual sound effects so you could still hear Haley talking. Once I brought the audio into Adobe Premiere, I found multiple images to place throughout the story. I chose a handful, but found myself searching for more the...
